Electric Diffuser
An electric diffuser for essential oils is just the thing you need if you don't want to have to cover your head with a towel tent while you hunch over a bowl of warm water to get the most from aromatherapy. An electric diffuser can conserve expensive essential oils. An electric diffuser will generate a mist fine enough that you can breathe it in deep. An electric diffuser won't super-saturate the air with scent.

Feliway Electric Diffuser (48 mL)

Feliway (Comfort Zone) spray and diffusers prevent cats from urinating where they shouldn't. This fantastic new pheromone Feliway spray or diffuser duplicates the smell of a cat's natural scent glands. Cats will not soil anything close to where Feliway has been sprayed. Containing the synthetic scent hormone, the plug-in diffuser allows the Feliway scent to permeate throughout the environment. Each plug-in will cover an area of 50 to 70 square metres and lasts approximately four weeks. Alterations in the cat's environment such as visits to the vet, moving house, new arrivals, or nervous cats may manifest themselves as a change in behaviour such as urine marking, scratching, loss of appetite and refusal to play and interact. The diffuser helps to restore a feeling of calm in the cat. Early feedback on this product has been very positive, particularly for nervous cats. Contains one electric device and 48ml vial. Electric Diffuser Reviews - FAQ and Questions
- How does one make an electric scent diffuser?
School project time... An alternative to candles that diffuse essential oils would be an electric scent diffuser. Does anyone know how exactly to go about making one? Or other suggestions? Thanks!
A A very simple one would be something that drips the scent on a light bulb.

- Does Feliway Electric Diffuser really work to calm cats?
Two of my cats are not getting along. They don't really fight, but they are very territorial, stressed, and extremely jealous of each other. The vet suggested trying Feliway, but I don't want to spend the money if it doesn't work. Anybody used it before??? Ok thanks! More details: They were mostly ok for a long time, but one of them just had surgery and had to stay in my room for two weeks. He ate in there and had a litter box in there. Now he is healed and out roaming the house again but one of the cats doesn't seem to want to accept his presence any more. He even went as far as to block him from getting to the litter boxes! Part of the reason my cat got sick in the first place was stress, so I really can't have this one cat harrassing him now that he is recovered from surgery. Please help! The one who had surgery has always been my baby and the closest one to me. He was an only cat at our apartment and then we moved home where 3 others were introduced and had been living (I found 2 of them as strays when they were six months old). There are 4 total. Two are really good and get along with everybody but one of the stray ones is the one who has had trouble adjusting to my "favorite." I think he is extremely jealous of all the time I spend with the one who was sick. I try and spend time with both of them. I think you are right when you say the one who is jealous re-established dominance while the other one was stuck in my room. Now he is mad that the alpha cat is back. The weird thing is, the "alpha"can isn't dominate at all. He's care free most of the time and runs from the stray when he is chased. He doesn't fight back at all. Maybe that's the reason I feel the need to protect him. You think I should just let the stray take over???
A It does help to relieve the stress. I have more to add to this about letting them figure out who is alpha and then honoring their hierarchy. But, I have to go make dinner. I'll add more later! ADDED: Sorry about taking so long to get back to you! Thanks for posting the additional info. You are about to figure it out for yourself! If you want your cats to be healthy and happy, you have to honor the hierarchy they create. : ( I have had to work through my own issues about my favorite cat no longer being the alpha cat twice. If you can, pay attention to how they interact when they don't know you are around and when they do. This is what I would bet you would find. Your favorite cat defers to the new alpha and all is well. But, when you are around, your favorite cat gets nervous. FavCat knows you want to show him/her love and FavCat knows it will make the alpha cat mad. What makes FavCat nervous is that he is attempting to serve two masters. That is very hard on him. You have two choices. Either you become the alpha in such a strong way that all of the cats defer to you and the order you establish OR you have to accept the order they establish and accept their rules. You should notice that the alpha cat gets to sit where he wants and play with the best toys. So, *do not* invite the other cats to sit in the alpha's spot or use the alpha’s favorite toys with the other cats. Trust me. If you ignore the hierarchy they have established, then *you* are the one causing the stress, even though you are doing it inadvertently. I know it is hard not to lavish your FavCat with lots of love. But don't do it in front of the alpha cat. lol I just took a break from writing this because my FavCat showed up at the keyboard and Alpha cat is not around. So I took the opportunity to love on him. : ) My FavCat knows he can count on me to drop what I am doing when alpha cat isn't around. And guess what? All the cats are happy. About the Feliway: Don't bother with the spray. It is meant for short spurts, like car rides, etc. You’ll want to use the diffuser. It has a continuous release. You may only need to use it for once. Hopefully, by the time it runs dry all cats will know the hierarchy is being respected and there will be much less tension.
