- can I use potpourri oil for candle making?
I am thinking about starting my own candle business and have been making candles for myself for a while. However, before I make another investment in buying more fragrance oil, I have some potpourri oil that I have bought from wall-mart and was wondering if I could use that for the candle instead. I cant find on the bottle what the contents of the potpourri oil is (like if it has any alcohol) but it has a very strong sent. I just thought before i experiment and burn my house down that i would ask :)

A It would be risky to use the potpourri oil unless you're that it has no alcohol. For candles, you should always use oil-based scents, rather than alcohol-based. Best of luck to you and your new venture.

- Does anyone know how to make orange oil like a refresher for potpourri?
I purchased a hanging orange potpourri garland at a arts and crafts fair and ran out of the refresher oil does anyone know how to make this I have looked and looked online but keep coming up with dead ends. Thanks so much in advance.

A Orange oil is the oil taken from the rind of an orange. It takes a lot of rind to do it. One trick I like is to peel the rind (or slice it off, be careful not to go past the white and into the fruit) and stud it with cloves. You can then tuck them in the garland and the skin will dry and it has a christmassy scent.
